Specialized cleaning for Persian, Oriental, and area rugs using methods customized to each fiber, dye, and soil condition.
Because rugs are made from a wide variety of fibers, dyes, and construction methods, no single cleaning technique is appropriate for every piece. Before cleaning begins, our trained professionals perform a visual and tactile inspection along with a colorfastness test to evaluate dye stability.
Using this information, we select a cleaning process specifically suited to your rug and its particular soiling conditions. From Persian and Oriental rugs to everyday area rugs, Fabrex / Solar-Seal® provides the specialized care needed to clean while helping preserve the rug’s color, texture, and appearance.
Our rug cleaning services can include soft-water rinsing, pH rebalancing, individual spotting, controlled drying, deodorizing, fringe whitening, dye touch-up, and moth elimination when required. Both normal maintenance cleaning and corrective cleaning are available depending on the condition of your rug.
Every rug receives individualized treatment based on its fibers, construction, dyes, and condition.

Most Oriental and area rugs are picked up and cleaned under controlled conditions at our facility. Cleaning begins with thorough vacuuming to remove loose dust and dry soil. High-use areas are preconditioned before a blend of pre-softened, water-based, neutral-pH cleaning agents is applied according to the rug’s specific fibers and soiling conditions. Individual stains are treated separately, deodorizing is provided as needed, and soil is suspended and extracted along with excess moisture.
Depending on the rug, we may also use hand cleaning or a low-moisture bonnet process to achieve the best possible results. After cleaning, fringe can be whitened and the face fibers brushed to restore their appearance and feel. Rugs are then dried under controlled temperature and humidity conditions, inspected, re-vacuumed, and groomed before being prepared for delivery and reinstallation.
